Equipment:
1x Quaffle - netball
2x Bludger - foam dodgeball
1x Snitch - annoyatron
2x Keeper's broom
RULES:
KEEPERS:
Well, basically, you hang around the goal posts. You can go anywhere in your half of the field and can help with the quaffle. You have to stop the quaffle from getting into the goals using your broom (if we get them). Until we do, you can use hands.
CHASERS
1. 5sec rule on holding the ball
2. Can run backwards down field with ball
3. Pass in any direction
4. Cannot kick the ball
5. If the ball is bounced and then caught by the same person, it has to bounce twice
6. Quaffle can be stolen by the opposing team IF
A) Quaffle held in ONE hand
B) The scuffle lasts less than 3secs. If it lasts more than 3s, the quaffle is kept by the original holder.
BEATERS
1. 10sec rule for holding a bludger (try to actually follow this rule)
1.a) To encourage following this rule, if you hold onto a bludger too long, you are considered hit. Then you have to drop the bludger where you are and go off field etc.
2. Can run in any direction with a bludger
3. Can pass to another BEATER
4. CAN NOT pass to NON-BEATER teammates - teammates are considered 'hit' by the bludger.
5. If hit by a bludger, walk off the field from where you are, re-enter game from the centre
6. Bludgers can NOT be stolen while being held
7. Can't hit the keeper
8. If not holding a bludger, can help with the quaffle but cannot score.
9. Both beaters from the same team are not allowed to have both of the bludgers
SEEKER
1. Seekers can act as chasers throughout the game.
2. Seekers' main goal is to end the game by finding the snitch. The snitch will be a small object (a jar lid) which will emit high-pitched 'beeping' noises at random intervals. During gameplay, the Seeker will have to listen and look for the hidden snitch which can be anywhere on the playing field, and within three metres of the field's limits. Only seekers can enter this area.

Yeah.. maybe once someone buys stuff from thinkgeek. It's probably not practical to order one and just have that shipped.

I'm currently thinking of buying sis's christmas present from there (do you think it will ship in time?) so I figured that if I do I could buy one (or a three pack, to be safe?) at the same time.

That's a good idea. A three pack works, otherwise i might still have a voucher for a free one. So, a three pack and a free one? Very Happy

Those damned things had better work! We should all do Christmas shopping on ThinkGeek to (a) get awesome gifts for people, and (b) make it worth the effort

It is a small device (I think a bit bigger than the size of an old 50c piece) which emits high pitched noises at random intervals.

http://images.google.co.nz/images?q=annoyatron&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

It will be hidden somewhere on the field by the ref before the game begins. As an aside note, it will probably be put in some kind of casing, to protect it from being stood on or broken. The details are a little fuzzy, but it's being sorted

You can do that, too, now!

See, you thought it was a good thing being promoted. It isn't, really. You just get to do more work.

Yeah. They power-madness will either dissipate, or take a turn for the worse and cause fatal brain-melting.

At the moment I'm rooting for the latter result.

Edit: also, off topic, much?

Well yes...

so...

Do you think the keeper is the secret weapon as he/she needs to stop scores but also help with the quaffle in their side of the field?

I already have been hit with a golf club on the head so brain-melting is only one step up...

How the Hell did you manage that?

I don't think they're a secret weapon, as such... Everyone knows what their job is, after all..

Yes but the keeper could really be the controlling force in a game. Yes the seeker is the deciding thing but the keeper has to be on attack and defence if they are good enough.

My brother was practising golf on the lawn when I was younger and didn't see me walking behind him as he swung the club back. Next thing I know, he's screaming, my forehead is cold and wet and when I put my hand to it and take it away, it's covered in blood. Not a pretty sight for a six/seven year old. Buuuut I only cried when my mum yelled at me. Got between eleven and seventeen stitches (I never remember which) and a scar!
I have a lot of scars... Shame

Why did your mum yell at you? That sounds horrible!

Also, I see your point - keepers could be quite awesome.

How could they not be, they're playing Quidditch
